When it comes to selecting the best Nike lacrosse heads, I’ve had the opportunity to test various options that cater to different playing styles and positions. Each head has unique features, making it essential to find one that complements your game.

Nike has been a sporting household since 1964. In 2009, they collaborated with STX and launched themselves in the lacrosse industry.

Nike CEO 2 Lacrosse Head

I first picked up the Nike CEO 2 last spring, and it quickly became one of my go-to heads. Released in 2019, this head is specifically designed for face-off specialists and midfielders.

One of the standout features is its shorter throat, which allows for a closer grip on the pocket. This design enhances my control and power during face-offs, giving me an edge against my opponents.

Weighing in at just 5 ounces, the lightweight construction allows for quick dodges and cuts, making it a fantastic choice for fast-paced play. The durable strings provide excellent tension and control, ensuring accurate passing even during intense moments.

While I typically prefer a mid pocket, I found the high pocket option on the CEO 2 to be surprisingly effective for balancing ball control and cradling.

However, it’s worth noting that the stiffer pocket can limit shooting effectiveness, so if you’re looking for a head primarily for shooting, you might want to consider other options.

Nonetheless, with plenty of stringing holes for customization and minimal break-in time, the CEO 2 is an excellent choice for players at all levels.

Next up is the Nike CEO 3, which I added to my arsenal last season after experiencing some durability issues with my previous heads. Released in 2023, this head boasts improved sturdiness without sacrificing performance.

The enhanced plastic construction means it can withstand aggressive gameplay while maintaining its shape.

The zero-friction scoop is a game-changer for ground ball control during face-offs. The short throat design lets me get my top hand closer to the head, maximizing control during critical moments.

Although it took longer to break in compared to the CEO 2, once it was ready, I appreciated its stiffer feel and consistent performance.

For those who prioritize durability and control in their game, the CEO 3 stands out as one of the best Nike lacrosse heads available today.

However, beginners might find it a bit challenging due to its stiffness; thus, I recommend starting with the CEO 2 or opting for a softer mesh if you choose the CEO 3.

The Nike Lakota 3 has been another favorite of mine since its release in 2021. Designed primarily for long stick midfielders (LSM), this head weighs only 4.63 ounces, making it incredibly lightweight without compromising on performance.

The round scoop design significantly enhances ground ball pick-ups and provides excellent control over passes and shots.

One feature that stands out is the new PowerForm material structure which offers durability while maintaining a slim profile for easier high-hand placement. With its simple face shape and ample stringing holes—17 in total—customizing the pocket to fit my playing style was effortless.

While it excels in offensive scenarios, I found it equally effective when playing defensively.

Though I did notice some wear on the mesh due to the lack of a string protection lip, overall, the Lakota 3 delivers exceptional performance for both offensive and defensive players alike. It’s definitely among the best Nike lacrosse heads for those looking to enhance their game.

Next on my list is the Nike Vapor Pro, which remains a staple in my collection despite being released in 2020. This head is versatile enough for both attackers and LSM players.

Weighing in at 5.2 ounces, it's slightly heavier than some options but offers a balance that aids in powerful shots and accurate feeds.

The rounded scoop design simplifies ground ball pick-up significantly while providing a controlled grip during play. One of my favorite features is its speed scoop that allows for quick releases—essential during fast breaks or critical scoring opportunities.

Additionally, with multiple sidewall holes available for customization, I found it easy to string according to my preferences.

Although it may lack some of the latest features found in newer models, its durability makes it an excellent budget-friendly option without sacrificing quality or performance.

Finally, we have the Nike Vapor Elite, which has been one of my favorites since high school due to its lightweight design at just 4.7 ounces.

This head features a pointed scoop that excels at digging up ground balls effortlessly while maintaining stiffness throughout gameplay.

The strategically placed cutouts reduce weight without compromising strength—a crucial aspect when you need agility on the field. The Vapor Elite performs exceptionally well with various pocket setups thanks to its ample sidewall holes; however, it's not ideal for face-offs due to its stiffness.

For attackers who prioritize strong cradling and shooting capabilities, this head ranks among the best Nike lacrosse heads available today.
